WeatherVane.jpg (208983 bytes) In New Jersey there stands an Episcopal Church built in 1745.  The church was burned down during the revolutionary war by the British army.  The weather vane survived and was remounted when the church was rebuilt.  Later a tornado destroyed the steeple and the weather vane was found several miles away in a corn field.   It survived, and when the steeple was restored, the weather vane was again reinstalled. During the Great Depression of the thirties, the WPA had drawings made to document the church and weather vane.  During World War II the weather vane was melted down for steel to support the war effort.  The WPA drawings were the only remaining documentation of the original weather vane.  It was from these drawings that Artist In Iron reconstructed an exact replica which now proudly turns atop the recently restored steeple.
