About 7 years ago we were commissioned to design and produce an entrance door treatment for one of our favorite clients. We were asked to create something with a theme especially for them. The customer gave us complete artistic license on this project. We created these seven-inch, bronze, allegorical sunflowers that went well with their oceanfront home. The client was associated with the publishing business, so we embellished the bronze work with literary themes raised in chisel, chase and repousse. The sunflowers were given a brown, tarnished patina. They are slowly acquiring beautiful moss green highlights form exposure to the salt air.
