On Worth Avenue in Palm Beach, Florida, Addison Misner built his historic home. One of the rooms in this incredible apartment was said, by Misner, to have come from 15th century Spain and was in fact the room where Queen Isabella told Columbus to go discover America. At least that is the story according to Addison Misner. When the apartment was rennovated by its new owners several years back, we were commissioned to construct a chandelier for this room. The owner gave us a picture from Better Homes and Gardents of England showing a chandelier she wanted to have copied. The picture of the chandelier measured about 1 inch by 1 inch. It took us 3 weeks using a magnifying glass to figure out its design. The completed chandelier measures 2 feet by 6 feet and haning 3 feet from the ceiling. The finish was rusted iron with beeswax and linseed oil.
